(A.K.A. Schoolism Pictorial Composition Week 05)

Video 10: If you cannot see the embedded video: https://youtu.be/Bep7wQ_D0SE

It has been a while since my last post. My life is finally allowing me to continue working on the Warriors of Virtue cover.

I’m painting, fleshing out more of the characters, costumes, and details. However, I do think I’m too slow. This way of illustrating is taking too long. I think if I was working in traditional media that I would be done by now. I’m actually considering switching from the Pictorial Composition Schoolism course to one of the introduction painting courses, since there has to be a better way to paint digitally. If professional digital painters were working like this, they would never get anything done.

I think I may also do a traditional painting of this cover art for comparison. I want to see how long it would take me to complete the work traditionally, then I will choose which one I will use for the cover.

What I also love about painting traditionally is that I will be left with an actual painting that I may eventual sell to a fan, or giveaway in a future contest.

If you are a digital painter, can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Until next time…
